My name is Kerstin, I am a Speech and Language Therapist who offers private tutoring for speech, language training and more.
I was born and raised in Mainz, Germany and as a student I studied Speech and Language Pathology in Erlangen, Germany. In this field I worked in several SLP offices and a school for children with special needs for 8 years. My education also included the study of human psychology, brain physiology, pedagogy and linguistics. As a native speaker, I also have profound knowledge of the German language theory, phonetics and grammar.
In 2011 my family and I moved to the United States and settled in Arizona, where I currently reside. In 2018 I began offering my tutoring service to students throughout the East Valley thus creating LogoTutor, LLC.

What's in the Name?
The name “LogoTutor” has special meaning behind it, as it is a compound of my professional skills as a therapist and private tutor.
In Germany “Logopädin” is how we refer to a Speech and Language Therapist. This word is composed of two Ancient Greek words: logos λόγος (meaning: speech, word, reason, plan) and paideuein παιδεύειν (meaning: to educate). Therefore, Logopädie in its literal translation means “word educator“.
Although in its real sense, this term enfolds the education and treatment of everything from language and speaking, voice and respiration, tension and coordination of articulation muscles.

Eine kleine Deutsch-Schule
I also provide one-on-one customized and private German lesson tutoring for students of all levels (beginner to advanced) and of all ages (2-100). These lessons may be in person.
I also offer German classes and study groups for children, small groups of 2-6 children per class.
